General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) course is a diploma program that trains students in areas of critical care and incorporates values necessary to become nurses and midwives. The undergraduate program is of 3 years duration. Students will take part in classroom studies, hospital visits, community visits, projects and assignments during the course.
Students of GNM course have a moral obligation to act as responsible citizens by following a code of moral values. Nurses play a very important role in keeping society together. They act as the backbone of medical services in any nation

General Instructions
1. The students shall wear salwar kameez / churidar neatly & appear decent during the school hours.
2. The students are required to wear proper uniform during the duty hours in Hospitals & Community areas.
3. The institution expects a high degree of discipline from the students in every aspects of their student life.
4. The students who are found guilty of provoking, leading or participating in any illegal activities, ragging, strike or boycotting the classes will be summarily dismissed.
5. The students shall follow all the rules & regulations respectively.
6. The student shall bear the cost of any breakage / damage or blockage due to negligence in the hostel, school & hospital.
7. Leave application & going outside the campus for any purpose shall be done only with the permission of the Principal or the Administrator.
8. Mobile phones will be given only from Saturday evening till Sunday evening. Students are expected to utilize the phone strictly only during the said period.
9. Use of alcohol & drugs are strictly forbidden in the campus.
10. The student shall strictly abide by the rules & regulations of the institution.
11. Any student getting eloped, married or getting pregnant during the 3 years course of study shall discontinue the course.
12. Any student leaving the institution during the training period on her own wish, shall pay the remaining dues of the year to the institute.
13. All the terms & conditions set forth in the prospectus are liable to be revised whenever found necessary by the management.
Examination Guidelines
School Examination Rules
P.T.S. Examination – This is an internal examination conducted by the institute after three months of admission to the school. Only those candidates who qualify this examination with 50% marks will be allowed to continue the training.
Internal Assessment – It is given on the basis of the student’s overall performances in the class, hospital wards, community areas & other co-curricular activities.
Model Exam – At the end of every session, each student have to write the Model Exam before appearing the Board Exam. The students who fail to pass the Model Exam shall not be allowed to appear the Board Exam. Such failure candidates will be put back & can appear their Board Exam after six months.
Board Examination Rules
1. Shall have one regular examination followed by supplementary examination in a year.
2. If a candidate fails, they can be promoted to the next year.
3. A candidate can take any number of attempts with a condition that maximum period allowed is 6 years. However, all previous papers need to be cleared before appearing in the final examination.
4. Minimum pass mark is 50% in each of the theory & practical paper separately.
5. If a candidate fails in either theory or practical paper, he/she has to reappear for both the papers.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO BOARD EXAMINATION
A candidate shall be eligible for the admission to the state Council / Board examination if the Principal of the school certificate that:
✓ She has completed not less than eleven months of the course.
✓ A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance in theory & practical in each subject for appearing the examination.
✓ A candidate must secure 50% marks in internal assessment separately in each theory & practical.
✓ The record of practical experience is complete.
N.B. The Diploma shall not be awarded to the student till she has completed the clinical / field requirements.
